The role of an Engineer - Tender Quality is key in ensuring the highest standards of quality are met during the tendering process. This professional acts as the linchpin between the Quality department and the tender team, providing expert analysis of quality-related requirements and ensuring they align with the company's management systems, standards, and regulations.

Evaluating the quality-related specifications in a tender requires a thorough review against the standards and regulations established by NKT Management Systems.

This process includes identifying any discrepancies between the tender's stipulations and NKT's established benchmarks, which are aligned with DS/EN ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems - Requirements. Addressing these gaps is crucial for enhancing project execution conditions, ensuring compliance, and maintaining the high standards expected by NKT. Coordinated efforts across departments can lead to significant improvements in meeting project deliverables and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

In the realm of project acquisition, being responsible for quality management encompasses a variety of critical tasks. This includes identifying and addressing client training needs, analysing past tenders for valuable insights, and formulating a comprehensive tender action plan.

Additionally, it involves the preliminary calculation of quality-related costs, populating risk registers and deviation lists, and crafting detailed Quality Plans and documentation. Initiating quality improvements in the project acquisition process is also key.

Supporting the Tender Quality Manager entails reviewing specifications, performing gap analyses, developing quality solutions with cost considerations, and preparing quality materials for departmental and tender approvals.

Finally, ensuring a smooth transition of departmental scope to project execution teams, along with capturing lessons learned, is essential for continuous improvement and growth.

In addition to these qualities, you should possess the following expertise:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant technical field is a common requirement.
  • A minimum of 6 years' experience in quality management, preferably within manufacturing or construction sectors.
  • Specialized knowledge and experience in high voltage products, especially high voltage cables, are highly sought after.
  • Proficiency in project management and tendering processes can be a significant advantage.
  • Opportunities are available in various roles, such as Electrical Project Engineer, High Voltage Engineer, and Cable Quality Assurance Inspector.
  • Positions often require overseeing design and engineering teams, conducting quality evaluations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Employers value candidates who can contribute to the delivery of high-quality designs and installations in the high voltage sector.
