Legal Counsel

  • Category: Legal
  • Location: Broendby, DK; Kladno, CZ; Malmoe, SE

NKT is looking for a legal counsel with an international mindset and a commercial perspective. If you are looking for an opportunity to work in a company instrumental to the worldwide green agenda, this is your perfect opportunity. Based either in Brøndby (DK), Malmø (SE) or Kladno (CZ) as part of our global Corporate Commercial, Compliance & M&A department your focus is to provide business oriented legal advisory services to top management in NKT, sales and procurement managers across the world. You can look forward to being very close to the business.

Broad range of legal areas with focus on commercial contracts
Your overall goal is to independently deliver best in class strategic advice to NKT business lines across multiple jurisdictions. With contracts as your primary focus area you will work across key customer agreements, supply agreements in connection with tender and public procurement processes, global real estate, cable repair and installation contracts, international financing agreements, procurement contracts, distribution agreements, NDA’s and other similar documents.

Your tasks include:

  • Drafting, advising on and negotiations of contracts
  • Dispute handling and negotiations
  • Corporate tasks
  • Stakeholder management
  • Project management
  • Engagement of external lawyers
  • Training of managers and colleagues

To succeed, you must be able to establish a trustworthy relation to your internal clients across the business and provide advise with a distinct commercial perspective.

Your background
You bring a Masters of Law degree and minimum 3-4 years of legal training from a law firm or a big-sized international company. Your experience covers drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, and related to this you understand and are able to communicate liability and risk profiles across different contract types. In addition, you can explain complex legal concepts to stakeholders without legal training. If you have litigation, M&A or other transactional experience it is an advantage but not a prerequisite.

You like to work independently while at the same time you are a team player. You have solid analytical skills and the ability to handle and prioritize among multiple tasks and deadlines. Despite of your legal background you are first and foremost professionally interested in business – the use of law as leverage for achieving outstanding business results. As advisor to (top) managers you can establish trust based on your professional behavior and business acumen. You must be fluent in English. Command of additional languages such as Czech, Polish, German, Swedish or Danish is a plus, but not a prerequisite.

You will be based out of either HQ in Brøndby, our Malmø office or Kladno, Czech, with the option to work from home for 1-2 days a week, and work closely together with a team of local lawyers and other professionals. You will report to the Head of Commercial Legal who is based at HQ in Denmark.

You can expect 10-20 days of travel per year.

Supercharge your career
You can look forward to being part of Corporate Affairs, an engaged, skilled and multinational department of approximately 25 professionals divided on legal, compliance, enterprise risk and insurance. The Corporate Commercial, Compliance & M&A department consists of nine legal, compliance, risk and IP professionals. You will work in an open, international and team-focused climate where your personal career development and preparation for future attractive positions in the group will be supported, e.g. via continuous training and regular feedback. We offer flexible working hours, possibility to work from home, employer′s pension contribution, meal vouchers and other benefits.
