Are you an experienced operational cable installation supervisor/engineer with a background in tool development, trenching tools, and lay equipment? We are expanding our Marine Operations team and offering a unique opportunity to work on some of the largest and most complex submarine cable projects in the renewable, oil & gas, and interconnector industries.

Our highly versatile Marine Operations department offers an excellent opportunity to broaden your offshore competencies, regardless of your current expertise.

In this role, you will deliver investment projects and in-house solutions for future projects. You will be responsible for overseeing in-house progress, monitoring, and following up on subcontractor progress. A solid background in project management, subcontractor follow-up, risk management, and a high focus on quality, health, and safety is essential. 

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, clients, and subcontractors, coordinating activities and ensuring project growth. Regular travel to NKT’s offices in Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, and various project sites is required.

Responsibilities:
 

  • Develop and deliver in-house solutions with a focus on tool and trenching equipment.
  • Lead specific investment projects or in-house solutions.
  • Manage subcontractors, budgets, and report to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with subcontractors.
  • Develop procedures and review technical documentation for projects and tenders.
  • Support projects/tenders in managing subcontracts with trenching subcontractors.
  • Communicate with offshore vessel crews during planning and conceptual design phases.
  • Allocate personnel and equipment for planned activities, including follow-up during the installation phase.
  • Support development and investment projects to enhance NKT’s offshore installation capabilities and competitiveness.

You will be part of a highly skilled team based in Sweden, the UK, and the Netherlands, giving you the flexibility to choose your work location from Karlskrona (Sweden), Malmö (Sweden), Teesside (UK), or Rotterdam (Netherlands).

Structured and collaborative trenching Engineer/Supervisor

To excel in this role, you should possess a high level of technical interest and competence. Our team thrives on collaboration and high team spirit, so to success in this position requires being a team player with an open mind-set, eager to share knowledge and experience.

Requirements:
 

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in offshore projects.
  • Experience with trenching flexible products, back deck engineering on construction vessels, and shallow water operations/construction.
  • Proficiency in English, with Swedish and Dutch being advantageous.
