Vessel Operational Manager - NKT Marine Operations

  • Category: Engineering
  • Location: Lyckeby, SE; Malmoe, SE; Redcar, GB; Rotterdam, NL

Do you have practical experience in vessel management? Would you like to help make the world a better place?

Do you want to work with the most advanced offshore cable-laying vessels in a company with a global customer base and exposure in the renewable, oil & gas, and interconnector industries? Then apply for the role of NKT Vessel Operational Manager.

As part of NKT’s Marine Operations Department, you will be surrounded by colleagues with various offshore engineering and operational disciplines. The Vessel Operational Manager role consists of vessel coordination and marine management tasks.

The NKT Marine Operations Department is growing. Since 2017, we have operated the NKT Victoria, and now we are building a new cable lay vessel, the NKT Eleonora. In addition to our own assets, we need to utilize marine assets and vessels from the spot market to meet current and foreseeable market demands.

You will have the opportunity to broaden your operational expertise across a variety of tasks and projects.

Tasks

Typical tasks and activities include:

  • Responsible for optimal performance and management of assigned vessels, and providing support to the organization in maritime-related matters.

  • Acting as the interface to the Project Installation Manager and efficiently planning operations.
  • Leading the onshore Marine Operations Emergency Team.
  • Leading the technical development on vessels to build a green footprint for our own assets to comply with NKT sustainability goals.

Requirements:

  • Experienced Superintendent, Project Manager, Captain, or Chief Engineer.
  • High leadership focus in an international environment with a strong safety awareness.
