Senior E-Commerce Architect (m/f/d)

Your responsibility areas

In your role as Senior E-Commerce Architect, you are responsible for the design and implementation of our architecture for building and expanding our brand new B2B E-Commerce platform in collaboration with business stakeholders while working closely with our off-shore development teams.

We are just beginning our journey and have many exciting steps ahead, including roll-out to various markets, inclusion of additional business lines, integration with multiple additional systems (e.g. PIM) and the creation of additional functionality for our customers. Additional tasks will include:

• Design and document solution architecture, including diagrams, data flow and integration points
• Lead development, review and approve code, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices
• Lead technical meetings and workshops with cross-functional teams as well as help build and functionally lead (off-shore) development team
• Monitor system performance and implement optimizations as needed
• Provide hands-on support for complex technical challenges and troubleshooting
• Align with business stakeholders and external partners on requirements and solution development
• Own the CI/CD pipeline to continuously test and deploy the application to Azure infrastructure managed by code (Bicep)

Your profile

• Successfully completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or comparable qualification
• At least 7 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a solution architecture role focused on e-commerce, including a proven track record in designing and implementing large-scale e-commerce platforms
• Strong knowledge and experience with Java Script and Node.js, ideally Next.js as well as good understanding of React.js and experience with MS Azure and composable architecture
• Strong background in web technologies and integration with third-party systems, incl SAP, while experience in Commercetools platform and Boomi is a plus
• Experience in functionally leading development teams and managing complex projects as well as strong understanding of B2B e-commerce business processes, an agile mind-set and understanding of development best practices
• Language skills: English (mandatory), German (optional)
