At NKT HV Cables in Alingsås, we offer exciting opportunities for students to propose and explore ideas for their master thesis within the fields of Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Applied Engineering, and Material/High Voltage Engineering.

NKT is a leading player in the HVAC and HVDC cable systems industry, addressing the growing need for energy transmission over long distances from sources like wind farms. At our Alingsås site, we develop and produce cable accessories, such as joints and terminations for both HVAC and HVDC. Our goal is to stay at the forefront of accessory development for higher DC power transmission, which involves increased voltage levels and higher currents leading to higher conductor temperatures.

Thesis Proposal

We invite students to collaborate with us on their master thesis by proposing ideas or discussing potential projects.

The main part of the thesis work will be performed at our site in Alingsås, with some tasks like literature studies and planning potentially done at Chalmers. Certain measurements might be conducted either at Chalmers or at our research center in Västerås. Students will receive a reward for their thesis work.
