Deleuran El(ectricty)

The installer company Deleuran El and NKT were founded almost simultaneously at the end of the 19th century. Both companies have celebrated their 100th birthday long ago – and have worked together for just as long.

In today’s society, electricity - and easy access to it - has become an expected and completely indispensable part of our everyday lives and a modern society. But going back just 100 years, it was a different story.

NKT’s story started in 1891, when shipowner H. P. Prior saw the potential in fabricating high quality wires for distribution of power and founded Nordiske Kabel- og Traadfabrikker - also known as NKT. Before electricity became common, Sophus Deleuran was ahead of his time. In 1896 he founded the company, which was later known as Deleuran El. The first tasks were primarily house phones and lightning rods, but when the electricity plant was built in 1902, the tasks evolved to include electrical lightning.

And maybe the timing of the two companies’ foundation wasn’t coincidental. Because Deleuran El has sold and used NKT products since their start and up to this day - several generations later.

Peter Møller Aasland took over the company a few years ago including the cooperation with NKT. Simply because the products are easy to work with.

“The cables are easy to install and strip. We actually use quite a lot of the 50 meter coils as they’re easy to carry around especially in small areas where we need to bring lots of different cross sections and dimensions”, Peter says.

And the handy products aren’t the only reason why Peter and his employees still work with NKT.

“Our many years of cooperation and history provides a feeling of security. Because we know who to reach out to at NKT. And because we know the products live up to the standard we want and we get the same quality – every time”, Peter says.
